Background
The Avernos Accord simulation is set against the backdrop of a longstanding dispute between two fictional nations, Avernia and Nordessa, over the Eldoria Region. This area is coveted for its rich natural resources and strategic geographical position. The conflict is deep-rooted, involving historical territorial claims, cultural and ethnic tensions, and competing economic interests. The Global Council for Peace and Cooperation (GCPC), an international organization, steps in to mediate the dispute, aiming to facilitate a peaceful resolution.
Objective
Participants will engage in diplomatic negotiations and conflict resolution processes to address the complex issues at play. The goal is to achieve a mutually beneficial accord that respects the sovereignty, cultural heritage, and economic aspirations of both Avernia and Nordessa, while promoting regional stability and peace.
Participants’ Roles
Avernian Delegates – Representing the interests of Avernia, they assert historical and cultural claims over the Eldoria Region.
Nordessian Delegates – Advocating for Nordessa’s strategic and economic interests in Eldoria, emphasizing recent investments and development efforts.
GCPC Mediators – Neutral facilitators from the Global Council for Peace and Cooperation, working to guide the parties towards a peaceful resolution.
Eldorian Representatives – Speaking for the local population of the Eldoria Region, they seek to ensure that their cultural rights, way of life, and economic interests are safeguarded in any agreement.
